The Boobbatical BulletinMonthly insights aimed at demystifying breastfeeding for the workplace |
Hi Reader, The kickoff of the holiday season can be a magical time of year full of heartfelt traditions, twinkling lights, delicious desserts, and ample time with family and friends. It's easy to get swept up in the merriment and forget that it's not all festive fun for everyone. Every year around this time, I'm reminded of the first Christmas we celebrated with our firstborn. She was barely over two months old, breastfeeding was still a bit of a struggle for me and I was preparing to return to work. To say my anxiety was high is an understatement. A full day of festivities at my in-laws meant that I was slinking away to a cold spare bedroom to nurse every two hours. Layer on the constant feeling of FOMO (fear of missing out) and the pure exhaustion that comes along with caring for a newborn...it wasn't exactly a jolly holiday. So as you prepare for your family outings, gatherings with friends, and workplace happy hours this holiday season, I hope you take a couple minutes to consider the nursing moms in the crowd. They're coping with an extraordinary amount of stress and doing their best to keep a brave face. Not sure where to start? Inspiration is just a click away: check out this exclusive first look at Milk Money! It's a new series featuring expert insights that takes our mission of demystifying breastfeeding for the workplace to a whole new level. Happy holidays, Amanda Bond Have something to share?
